December 2023
“The best gift you can give someone is your time and attention.” – The Giving Tree, Shel Silverstein
Thanksgiving Feast
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast. We made thanksgiving attire, butter, johnny cakes (corn pancakes), popcorn, enjoyed some craisins and apple juice.
Grinch Day
We hope your children enjoyed being a little “Grinchy” with us.
Socks For Our Special Troop
Thank you everyone who participated. Mrs. Gray will be sending these along on Monday with some holiday cards.
Christmas Party, Pajama Day and Sing along
Thursday, December 14th (for Mrs. Gray’s, and our two-day programs)
Friday, December 15th (for our three-day programs).
Party Treats
Sign up genius emails will be sent out shortly for party treats.
Pajama Day
We thought it would be fun for your children to come to school in their Christmas or favorite Holiday pajamas.
Sing along:
We will have our sing along in the gym as soon as all the children have arrived. We will sing a few songs and then line up for classroom pictures.
Additionally on Thursday we will sing a few Christmas songs for the Senior Moments group who meet in the church. They look forward to it every year. 😊
Gift Exchange
Please send in a $10-$15 grab gift: boys buy for a boy and girls buy for a girl, wrapped, with a tag that says either to a boy or a girl and your child’s name on it. Please bring your child’s gift in before December 12th and give it to your child’s teacher.
Maybe (wink, wink) Santa will pay us a visit!
Snow Day Policy
There will be No School if the Newburyport School System cancels school due to inclement weather. We will OPEN with a 45 min delay (9:30) * if Newburyport calls a 2-hour delay with or without no morning pre-k classes listed. No school or delayed opening announcements will be sent via email, will be posted on class dojo and on our Facebook page. We will try to have these announcements posted as soon as possible. *To give the DPW and our plow company a little more time to make sure the roads/parking lot are safe for travel.
On-going Heating Issue
The heating company thinks they finally found the cause. Parts have been ordered and when they come in, they will hopefully fix it for good. If we are still in session, we will move to the other wing for school.
Renovations
The safety of our students is our number one priority as well as that of the new Pastor of the Hope Church. Ring light cameras have been installed at the doors of the building and are monitored by the building managers. I monitor our entrance as well. In the upcoming months, planned renovations to install a door at the end of our hallway near room 2 as well as cameras are expected to begin.
Inhouse Registration
We have heard back from most of our families. If you have not responded, please let me know if you are undecided, will or will not be joining us in September. We want to make sure we have spots for our in-house students and their siblings.
Deposit invoices are being sent out and once paid you will receive your contract.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Public Registration
We will begin public registration on December 4th. If you know anyone looking for the Best Preschool around if we do say so ourselves, please send them our way. You are our most valuable form of advertisement.
Winter Break
